Base Training has begun

Nov 18th, 2009 | By Kev | Category: Fitness

I started my base training at the beginning of November so now 2 weeks in.  I had forgotten how hard life can be on a turbo.  As I only got it last year it was all new so had a novelty factor about it.  This year it is hard work though mentally more than physically.

Cold, Wet and miserable

May 12th, 2009 | By Kev | Category: Fitness, Kev's Training

I headed out to do the Kincardine loop again on Saturday with the intention of doing two laps of the Hills of west Lothian. The forecast was mixed with some slight showers so I headed off in shorts and short gloves, etc.

More Garmin gadgetry…..

Mar 25th, 2009 | By Roy | Category: Fitness

Not wanting to be left out I recently got the Garmin Forerunner 50 which as a runner and cyclist seemed ideal to cover my training needs, plus not too expensive either at £30 from Amazon (thanks Kirst!)

Using kit correctly

Feb 26th, 2008 | By Kev | Category: Fitness

I had been slightly concerned about the pain I was getting in my left knee after the last couple of rides.  I though cycling was supposed to be better for me than running.
After a bit of thought I tried changing the position of the cleats on my shoes as it only happened when I started [...]

Getting going

Feb 18th, 2008 | By Kev | Category: Fitness

I have set a couple of targets for this year; 1) to cycle 100 miles comfortably and 2)to reach a weight of 13stone.
My problem at the moment is everything is a learning curve.  I’m finding there is a lot of technique to riding a bike a long distance.
The other big difference for me is the physical [...]
