About Kev
Name: Kev
Age: 40
Weight:15stone 4 (2007 when this blog started) Now 13′ish
I first started in cycling in 2008 when getting persuaded to do the Etape after a few beers!
I am married with 3 kids so training time is limited though my wife would probably disagree.
I will be doing my 3rd etape this year. I had no intention of doing it as I will be doing The Marmotte on July 2nd but as it was nearby I thought I may as well do another. So last year having spent 3 hours on a medical saline drip at the end once again I hope to finish in a better condition than I did the previous year (this seems to be a recurring theme).
Having finished 3100 last year out of 10,000 and 3500 didn’t finish I still have confidence going into it. I just need to pace it better.

Like the look of your site … thought you might be interested in my Journey to the Etapes …
I am doing both this year (from a standing start last September).
Love to keep in touch and receive tips on the Journey or the site

Thanks Steve, I’ve added your site to a new page I’ve created. Good Luck
Hi Kev,
I’m another Kev, also aged 40, and also with 3 kids! No etape experience though, just one sportive under my belt, and have been solely training on a turbo trainer due to work commitments (albeit a ‘Real live video’ trainer with the etape route)..I may have to adapt the bike to tow the saline drip with me up the climbs
Cheers!
Kev
